Seekers of the Well is a Toronto-based Country Gospel music project dedicated to creating original, faith-filled songs of praise. Led by songwriter and vocalist Seeker Jay Smith, the project’s mission is simple: to strengthen believers, bring others closer to Jesus, and foster unity among Christians of all denominations.

Smith considers the Holy Spirit his songwriting partner, manager, and driving force. His journey into Gospel music began in late 2022, during a time of personal struggle. Seeking God’s guidance, he found clarity and purpose—using his lifelong passion for songwriting to praise God and spread His Word.

In February 2025, Seekers of the Well released its debut single — “Jesus I Want Your Love” — marking the beginning of a steady stream of releases, with a new single dropping every six weeks. The music, rooted in country and Americana, blends heartfelt scripture-driven storytelling with melodies designed to uplift and inspire.

Currently a solo project, Seekers of the Well will evolve into a full live band in 2025. Smith has already recorded an album’s worth of material in a top-tier studio in Toronto, working with talented country and bluegrass session musicians to craft a powerful, professional sound.
